A LATER LIFE COMMISSION – TAKING THE LEAD
You may be familiar with the metaphor of the frog in a pan of gently heating water that is eventually boiled alive versus the frog that jumps straight out of a pan of boiling water.
The difference between us and the frog (which might represent the public at large) is that we know what's going to happen - the water will eventually boil.
I'm talking here about the looming pensions catastrophe in the coming decades, when people won't have enough to live on after they stop working.
In the fourth of our series, which you can watch, listen or read I suggest we urgently need a Later Life Commission to develop an integrated, long-term, national strategy for financing our retirement and social care.
